Spring/Summer 2011 Preloving
22 Feb
In my personal search for a spring wardrobe, I'm going to be on the lookout for chino shorts, suede loafers, some bright t-shirts and a camel-coloured bag (with as many ruffles as possible) the next time I hit the shops, erm, eBay.
Clashing florals is my favourite trend at the moment - I'm not really brave enough to pull it off in the office, but will certainly be doing so for nights out with tan high heels.
I found these floral culottes on the TOPSHOP website retailing at £38:
But look who's way ahead, paying £3.99 on eBay:
Thank God I'm arranging for more photographs, eh?!
Here I have a few suggestions on how can you make your winter wardrobe spring-ready on the cheap:
Use brighter tights with your darker (and brighter clothes), and update your look with some flared jeans - charity shops and vintage stalls will be great for this! You'll still be wearing these come autumn.
Get layering thinner clothes instead of one massive jumper. Re-fashion your summer wardrobe of 2010 by wearing dresses with long-sleeved tops underneath, layered with a cardigan. Hot pants with colour-matched tights or knee-high socks will keep your pins nice and warm, and this is great matched with heeled sandals on warmer days (hello April!)
These two-toners retail on ASOS for a bargainous £5...
Sick of wearing brogues and socks? Get rid of those black tootsies and update your socks to brighter colours.
Updating your jewellery can make a huge difference - this season is going to all about chunky gold so get blingtastic! It's really easy to get creative on your wardrobe when you simply update your accessories.
For the guys - get yourself a bright spring jacket - turquoise, yellow and lime green are all the rage to brighten up your jeans and trainers combo.
What are you looking for this spring, or currently rocking?
