Wow. We’re going to Belarus at the start of May. Invitation letters for our visa applications are currently being created and it’s all go. Woo.
What a busy weekend! 2 meals – one of which was for Mark’s Dad’s 60th birthday so we treated him to an ‘Around The World’ menu. Friday night was spent recording mock-up airline announcements and emailing fake boarding cards over to them to hype them up. They played along and when we announced dinner was at 7.30pm to take them into the ‘departure lounge’ they went outside, rang the doorbell and were waiting with suitcase, coats, umbrella and passports in hand.
Such fun! Each tasting plate was accompanied by music from each country and rotating table arrangements to match.
Spain – departure lounge: champagne and spanish nibbles
China – dim sum
Texas – ribs, coleslaw, white sliced bread
Africa – herby tomato salad, biltong
United Kingdom – rib of beef, broccoli, roasted sweet potato
Argentina – dulce de leche tart
France – cheese and biscuits
It took hours but was really fun – would definitely do it again. We even printed off a ‘travel documents’ menu with ‘visa stamps’ I photoshopped in for each country. Brilliant.
Today was another meal with a friend (actually a cousin of Mark’s something-times-removed) which was yummy. I just came home and did my nails…this is a Sally Hansen gel kit I got in the USA (colour is ‘greige) used with Nails Inc Feathers that I got for my birthday. I think it goes quite well!
